The energetic tone and archival elements in this mini-documentary make for a compelling picture of U Waterloo's accomplishments. We brought life to U Waterloo's outreach and documentary goals by highlighting its unique history and future-oriented spirit. The University's unofficial historian, Ken McLaughlin, speaks to some of the earliest days of the institution and its investment in co-operative education, entrepreneurship, and technological innovation. The video's upbeat narrator brings a fresh voice that ties the piece together with the help of intriguing archival material from U Waterloo, including campus newspapers and yearbooks dating back to the 1950s. We filmed b-roll footage of the campus, including drone cinematography, and gave the animated elements a modern look in alignment with the university's current brand.
